I’m sure most of you know that Bret Easton Ellis’ new novel “Imperial Bedrooms” came out. I didn’t. I just found out. Living under a rock will do that sometimes. Anyways for those of you who don’t know fuck all about Ellis, he’s the douche who wrote stuff like American Psycho, Lunar Park and Less Than Zero (which I strongly argue should be taught at every goddamn high school).
Bret Easton Ellis is without a doubt one of my favourite writers and he should be one of yours too. If you prefer post colonial works or Greek classics that’s fine. You might be a dick but that’s okay. Each his own, right? Easton Ellis is a hell of a good writer and I strongly suggest picking up Imperial Bedrooms. I haven’t read it yet but it’s supposed to be about the characters of Less Than Zero 25 years later and I mean c’mon, the man wrote fantastic, debaucherous, depraved, amazing things! His work should be on the shelves of every youth across the globe. Contemporary literature. That’s what should be hunted for and taught in schools and Bret Easton Ellis should be right up there! It might sound like I got a hard-on for this guy but whatever, Shakespeare can suck a dick.
